China is the most populous country in the world and this is also reflected in the registration figures for .cn domains. .cn is one of the top ten most frequently registered TLDs. Economically, China's strength lies in the industrial and service sectors. The latter employs almost half of the Chinese population. The booming economy makes .cn a ccTLD that will continue to be in high demand in the future. The top-level domain of China is therefore an essential addition for every balanced domain portfolio. With the help of Authinfo, a provider change for .cn domains can be started easily, preventing any illegal domain takeovers.
The domain extension .cn has been available on the domain market since the end of 1990 and is one of the most used ccTLDs in the world. The registration is possible for any legal purpose. It should be noted that companies must submit an excerpt from the commercial registry and private individuals a copy of their ID when registering. Furthermore, Internet addresses can be registered under country-specific second-level domains such as com.cn and net.cn. In this way, even more coverage can be generated. The ccTLD is managed by China Internet Network Information Center based in Beijing, which ensures smooth use of .cn domains.
The Chinese registry of the .cn domain, China Internet Network Information Center (CNNIC), was founded in mid-1997. It is based in Beijing and administers the Chinese ccTLD under the management of Erwei Shi. In order to register a .cn domain, there are certain regulations that are set by the CNNIC.

Each top-level domain has its own registration requirements and is subject to its individual registration policy. In principle, domains can usually only be requested and registered via one of the registrars accredited by the respective registries. However, this service can be used by businesses or private individuals in many countries. It is very important that domain names are unique, because they are only allocated once. Once the potential registrant has provided all necessary information and thereby met all relevant requirements, it is the responsibility of the registrar to enter this information directly into the system of the registry. One of the most common requirements for ccTLDs, for example, is a residential or business address for the Owner-C in the respective countries. But proof of membership to institutions, clubs or communities may also play a role, in particular for domain registrations under new gTLDs.
This depends on the TLD and the corresponding registration requirements of the responsible registry. The majority of top-level domains can now be registered in real time thanks to domain registration platforms like AutoDNS. But there are also some domain extensions for which the registration process takes a few hours or days, as manual processing is required on the part of the top-level domain registry.
Premium domains are domain names that are in high demand. The responsible registry categorizes them with a higher price due to their short length or popularity of the keywords used. It is always the responsible registries who, depending on the market situation, decide which domains are categorized as premium domains. This means that we also cannot offer premium domains at standard registration prices. However, the prices for some premium domains can already lie within the two-digit range.
Domain transfers require a strategic approach and technical know-how on the part of the provider, as the procedure can differ from TLD to TLD. ICANN has also established rules for this, that all registrars must adhere to. Domain transfers between two registars – i.e. from an external registrar to InterNetX – are mostly handled fully automatically with the help of an AuthInfo code. A change of ownership is also possible during the process of a domain transfer, if not only the registrar changes, but also the domain owner. In some cases, there are additional security measures that can prevent any unauthorized domain transfers. Registrars with an ICANN accreditation must supply an emergency contact for communication related to tranfers. A transfer between maintainers and registrars can be subject to separate requirements – we will supply you with the necessary documents. Our expert InterNetX Team for domain transfers knows all the various applicable policies and can offer you a domain transfer service. If you require more information or assistance, please contact us.

InterNetX has implemented a global and redundant name server infrastructure. All domain customers can use the InterNetX name servers without any additional costs.
Good to know: The InterNetX name server infrastructure is continuously expanded, adjusted and maintained around the clock. The zone administration is carried out in real time via AutoDNS and/or the XML API. The Anycast name servers provide maximum failsafe protection for strongly frequented domains and are available in AutoDNS subject to additional charges.
However, external dedicated name servers can also easily be connected to AutoDNS. Customers are also able to specify themselves as independent name server providers in DNS i.e. whois. They can also operate their own virtual name server via AutoDNS for branding purposes.
NodeSecure is the Anycast & DNSSEC Service provided by InterNetX, which name servers are distributed over 51 different locations worldwide. Queries are sent via Anycast to the name server that is most quickly available via the shortest route. This ensures that the highest-performing access times are always achieved. NodeSecure ensures a very high availability of the DNS, as queries are automatically distributed and redirected to other locations if the availability of one location is disrupted.
DNSSEC is a standardized extension to the DNS-protocol and guarantees the authenciity and integrity of data in the domain name system. It was developed to counter cache poisoning. DNSSEC uses a public-key cryptosystem to secure name server queries and serves to verify sources. It secures the path between teh DNS servers and validated DNS clients, including resolvers with their caches which are positioned in between. DNSSEC helps to ensure that the queried domain name leads to delivery of the recorded IP address. In order to create the required digital signature for DNSSEC, a set of keys is generated, consisting of a private and a public key. The private key is only known to the owner. The public key is published in the DNS and can be used to check and verify a signature that has been issued with a private key. The public key must be credible for this, which is why the chain of trust (a key hierarchy) is implemented, which enables all signatures to be checked with only one public key. A zone that is located as high as possible in the DNS tree receives the public key of its delegated subzones and signs these digitally.
Apart from using their own name servers with DNSSEC functionality, customers also have access to full DNSSEC with NodeSecure.
